Hail Mary, Full of Grace

I have been pondering about the heart and life of Mama Mary for the past days. From Youcat, it was said that Mama Mary does perfectly help and intercede because she is our mother; and good mothers know how to stand up for their children. Mama Mary prays for us now and until the hour of death. Mama Mary committed herself, body and soul, to a divine yet dangerous undertaking. Mama Mary was taken up body and soul into heaven, and so anyone who lives and believes as Mary did will get into heaven. Amazing. Mama Mary was such a super woman.

Being inspired by her courage and character, I have come to appreciate the heart of my own mother. My mommy is a Marian devotee. She would always pray the rosary everyday and would always tell us that Mama Mary intercedes for our family. No wonder she has been a very good mother to us four children and a good wife to daddy. Mommy is a woman of love and courage. She is a selfless mother. She is a great and loving doctor. She is a genuinely caring servant in community. She is a source of love and life for everyone who knows her. She is truly an inspiration. How is she able to endure the loss of daddy? It is only through her heart that draws inspiration from Mama Mary and her soul that draws strength from the Lord that has brought her through all the difficulties of this year. We are very proud of mommy. Mommy is my inspiration of how it is to be a woman of grace and love. Mama Mary is mommy’s inspiration of becoming the woman she is today.

My goal in life is to become the woman God wants me to be, and now I have come to deeply appreciate that it is Mama Mary who could help me achieve this ardent desire. She is the perfect model and example of how it is to be a woman of grace and holiness. And so I resolve to get to know Mama Mary even more and devote myself into her heart and life. For me to be able to live like Mama Mary, I have to be able to pray like how she did: Lord, let it be done to me according to Your Word. My prayer is that these words may truly be alive in the way I live my life.

Mary is a woman who loves. How could it be otherwise? As a believer who in faith thinks with God’s thoughts and wills with God’s will, she cannot fail to be a woman who loves. (Pope Benedict XVI). Mama Mary, you are my beautiful inspiration in my life journey of striving to become the woman God wants me to be. Help me become like you – a woman of grace, trust, courage and obedience; a woman who is truly after God’s own heart. You are beautiful inside and out and I pray to have a heart like yours.
